4 oz of tannery grade concentrated softening oil used after washing. Wear gloves when handling.
This is the same softening oil used in the tannery and results in very supple and flexible leather when applied correctly.
Instructions: After dabbing dry the leather side of a freshly washed sheepskin with a clean towel, mix contents with 12 ounces of hot (not boiling) water and apply to a freshly washed sheepskin with a rag with a gloved hand. Don’t let the fluid runoff get where it might make a mess, outside on a table is the best place to do it. After applying the mixed solution to the skin side, fold the sheepskin leather-to-leather and roll up, and leave it in a warm place where the fluid that runs off will not get on the fleece or cause a mess. After 4-10 hours, unroll and dry on a wire rack with a fan blowing over it, stretching every few hours as it dries to make sure it dries soft.
